Original Artwork's Description

On and after a painting trip to the Bay of Fires I made many paintings. One of them was a small painting on paper. The painting itself lacked something, so I tore it into pieces and instead used it as collage for this painting. In addition to the original painting, more paint has been added, as well as ink and drawing material, to find a scene reminiscent of the view along the shoreline, the beautiful water and the lovely lichen covered rocks along the Bay of Fires. The surface is textured from the use of collage.
The painting has been varnished for protection and the sides of the board are painted white, so it is ready to hang. You may choose to add a frame.

Artist Bio

Note I am away on holidays from 15 September, so will not be shipping artwork until after my return on 18th October.

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
