Artwork Description

Acrylic paint with some drawing media on stretched canvas

The painting has been painted in many layers, and is abstract and expressive. It is inspired by walks through Australian outback and regional areas, where distant views mix with the immediate beauty aside the trails.

The sides are painted white so it is ready to hang as it is, or a frame can be added.

Artist Bio

Proud to be a finalist 2026 Paddington Painting Prize!

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be one of bluethumb's top sellers. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
