Walking out, mustard pants

One of the art practices I really enjoy is printmaking. There is still the element of suprise when a print is pulled, especially using techniques such as this, making a collagraphy plate to construct an image, then not quite knowing how the print will look after the plate is ink and squashed through the press.

This print is highly abstracted, but the intention was to suggest people walking, perhaps along a city street. Some mustard coloured ink was used to add some colour to the predominantly black and white print.

The painting is on paper sized 38cmX28.5cm. There is a large border around the print, with the print itself 20cm X 29.7 cm, a signature underneath. This print will look beautiful behind a matt border, as shown in the in situ photos. The edges of the paper are deckled, so it can be framed with the paper's edges showing if you prefer, or a matt border placed over the top.

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
