Artwork Description

Acrylic painting on stretched canvas, and framed in a hardwood timber frame.

This beautiful expressive abstract painting evokes warm feelings through use of colour and bold brush movements. This work build on much exploration I am currently doing toward creating a series of abstract works inspired by land and sea. It has been built up in many layers with a depth created through using different tools to apply the paint, as well as scratching and scraping it back to reveal interesting surfaces. It can be paired with my other painting “Bursting with love”, to be available 30 April.

The painting is in a lovely professionally made timber frame.

Note I will be away on holidays for a month from 15 September and unable to ship larger works in days leading up to this so please order early to avoid a long delay. I might be able to send yours even on the 15th - despite me having put myself on holiday mode.

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
