Artwork Description

This artwork was created through playful exploration of acrylic paint and collage, with an intention of finding abstract figures within an abstract landscape. The inclusion of figures is new to me and I am enjoying this extension of my work, to bring some more life to the landscape. I titled this one "We walked the road together" as the figures appear to be a group of women, walking on a shared journey, and I feel the friendship among them as they tackle a challenging landscape.

The painting on a cradled panel is ready to hang, with sides painted white, although a frame could be added.

Artist Bio

I have been making art for a few years now, and I'm now doing it full-time. I'm loving the artist journey, and am proud to be high on the list of Bluethumb's rising stars. I have a large array of artwork available. I paint a lot, and enjoy exploring watercolour, oil and cold wax medium, acrylic paintings and mixed media as well as printmaking. Some of my work is on paper, others canvas or board. Perhaps you'd like to click on "follow" and hear about new work as it is listed.

I sold more than 100 paintings with Bluethumb in 2025 and was included in Bluethumb's 2024 "Top emerging women artists" curation and "Notable seascape artists of 2024" curation, as well as other curations in 2025 . I take inspiration from the coastal landscape around Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, as well as more diverse landscape from travels across Australia and beyond. I love to paint expressively and sometimes abstractly to capture the feeling, colour and detail of locations. I also delve into still life, abstract portraits, urban landscapes and florals.

I am constantly adding to my art education through many classes, online and in person, and through intensive art experiences , with guidance and mentoring from many fabulous artists.

In February 2025 I retired from a long professional career working in research in the area of family studies.
