Jennifer Collins is a visual artist based in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. Formally trained in contemporary drawing and printmaking practices, she now works across mediums including painting and installation.
Her love of art has led to many opportunities teaching and working with her local community. Jennifer has facilitated programs at Lismore Regional Gallery, a highlight is the Arts & Dementia program. This wonderful program gives people living with dementia access to engage with art in a social environment. Community art installation projects are another passion and Jennifer has coordinated hands-on events for The Lismore Lantern Parade, Lismore Council and the Lismore Women’s Festival.
A principal theme running through her own arts practice is her love of nature and wild places. Jennifer’s work often incorporates elements of both flora and fauna, with particular focus on vulnerable and endangered species. Presently, her paintings simply hope to brighten your world, just a little bit, as things ‘out there’ can be rather gloomy at the present time.
