Jennifer graduated from Curtin University with an honours degree in Fine Art in 2007. She has also completed a painting course at the Florence Academy of Art, and a Fashion Design course in Hobart.
Jennifer recently returned to Tasmania after living in Perth, and has settled in the Tasman Peninsula where she has built her studio.
During her completion of her arts degree, Jennifer concentrated on illustrating her concerns about forest logging and other environmental issues. Recently, she has being introducing man made objects into landscape paintings, referencing the use of synthetics to produce these fashion items and the danger to nature. This concept is also a conversation about beauty, the beauty of the art of fashion copied from the beauty of nature.
Painting Techniques
Jennifer produces her paintings using oil paint on canvas, oil paper and board. She uses an expressive style using brushes and palette knife to describe movement or stillness in her work. The use of charcoal and tracings emphasise aspects of her paintings.
