After visiting the UK , inspiration from the beautiful countryside and the photos I had taken, brought art back to life for me. Particularly when making purchases at the Derwent Pencil factory, I believed that soon I would have the opportunity to renew my passion for drawing.
On returning to Australia I was able to realize my dream of creating art and I now have the time to demonstrate my work and present it to art lovers. I have been encouraged by family and friends to exhibit my work and display it in a gallery. In a recent art exhibtion I sold 9 paintings.
I have entered overseas competitions with very positive comments and awards along with displays in local shows bringing success with first prizes. I have recently had success with the UK magazine "Leisure Painter" which featured my painting and article of "The Rescue" depicting a volunteer fireman saving a koala from the 2019 Australian bushfires. This painting won first price in the "Emergency Services Painting" competition. I also received a "highly commended" from TALP Open Art Competition, UK, for a portrait of Sir Ranulph Fiennes, which was sold in 2023 and in 2024 a "Highly Commended" for my oil painting "The Still Creek".
I produce work in the mediums of watercolour , acrylics, oils and pastels.
Enjoying "plein air" I am inspired by our beautiful countryside and sea scape, bringing life and serenity to my paintings. I am a member of the Urban Sketchers group.
My art works enhance interiors of UK, and Australia homes - interstate country homes, bringing with them charm and heritage values. I have been very fortunate to produce quality work for commissions.
