This was painted by Ron Marshall when we lived at Slade Point, Mackay Queensland and has been gracing our walls ever since. Perhaps it is time to let someone else enjoy this invigorating and spectacular painting on their own walls.
Jennifer and I often walked along Lambert's Beach and up to Lambert’s Lookout from which this view across the little rocky bay to Slade Point Headland is taken. The particular day that inspired this painting was a glorious blue sky day, and recent rain had cleared the air and washed the rocks clean; the greens of the grass and other vegetation was vibrant; and the cobalt blue of the sky and its reflection in the sea was glorious. The whites of the clouds and the foam of the waves breaking on the rocky shoreline contrasted spectacularly and enhanced the azure blue and emerald greens of landscape, sea and sky. Nature could not produce a more invigorating and refreshing and uplifting colour scheme!
You can almost hear the incessant and rhythmic crashing and surge of the little waves on the rocks, and feel the fresh salty breeze on your face as you gaze at this painting! So if you like the sea breezes, and the sound of the sea on a calm day, the glorious blue sky reflected in the ocean and the aliveness of vibrant green growth - and rocky outcrops - this could be the painting for you to sit back and enjoy!
