I painted this at the start of the spring season when everything is new and blossoming. It is a semi abstract painting representing new life, new beginnings, optimism and happiness.
Young flowers are unfurling with others in bud form and creepers and vines are all twisting and reaching for sunshine.
There are interesting textures with scraping and mark making and positive and negative organic shape forms.
It makes a very pleasing balanced composition with the contrasting geometric shapes layered on top of the organic, leafy forms.
It would be a striking feature in a lounge setting or entrance foyer with neutral tones so it would give a dramatic effect.
