Artwork Description

Blue Heeler in Bloom is a contemporary Australian artwork that reimagines the loyal Australian Cattle Dog through a cubist, mid-century modern lens. Built from bold geometric shapes, layered textures and a harmonious palette of eucalyptus greens, warm ochres and soft blues, the piece balances playful simplicity with sophisticated design.
Surrounded by stylised golden blooms beneath an expansive Australian sky, the Blue Heeler becomes both a beloved companion and a striking design element. The faceted composition and clean geometry pay homage to mid-century modern aesthetics while celebrating one of Australia's most iconic working dogs.
Perfect for collectors who appreciate modern Australian art, contemporary interiors and colourful statement pieces, this artwork brings warmth, personality and a touch of nostalgic design into any home.

Artist Bio

I have been drawing as long as I can remember and started art school at what is now known as TAFE when first I left school .
However , the convoluted path of life led me to become a Registered Nurse. Being able to work part time has allowed me more spare time and I have rediscovered my creative side .

I have always loved Australias natural environment and especially our beautiful native birds.

I have dabbled in painting , ceramics and print making courses in the past, but I find the convenience of hand drawing and painting on a digital art canvas suits me well as I can easily take my materials anywhere I go and immediately draw and colour while out amongst the birds and the trees.
The birds are often my favourite subject but I also draw from my many experiences of travelling in Asia and Australia.

Thank you for taking the time to read about what inspires me.

I can honestly say that creating these images brings me a lot of joy and I would love to share this with others.
