Artwork Description

Bower of Blue is an expressive squiggly line illustration inspired by Australia's remarkable Satin Bowerbird. Built from energetic looping strokes and abstract mark-making, this artwork captures the unmistakable silhouette of a brilliant blue bowerbird nestled within its carefully crafted bower. Scattered with the iconic blue treasures that these fascinating birds collect, the piece celebrates creativity, courtship, and the beauty of Australian wildlife.

Artist Bio

I have been drawing as long as I can remember and started art school at what is now known as TAFE when first I left school .
However , the convoluted path of life led me to become a Registered Nurse. Being able to work part time has allowed me more spare time and I have rediscovered my creative side .

I have always loved Australias natural environment and especially our beautiful native birds.

I have dabbled in painting , ceramics and print making courses in the past, but I find the convenience of hand drawing and painting on a digital art canvas suits me well as I can easily take my materials anywhere I go and immediately draw and colour while out amongst the birds and the trees.
The birds are often my favourite subject but I also draw from my many experiences of travelling in Asia and Australia.

Thank you for taking the time to read about what inspires me.

I can honestly say that creating these images brings me a lot of joy and I would love to share this with others.
