Artwork Description

Three 40.7 x 40.7 birch panels make up this triptych artwork. Hang together as one, or separate and hang individually. Essentially you get three paintings that have the option of being displayed in a variety of ways. Each painting has an individual signature and hanging wire.

I took my inspiration from the Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow tree I have growing in my courtyard. It lives happily with absolutely no attention from me and is pretty much ignored unless in flower. The flowers smell heavenly, but only last a matter of days and then are gone. The first blush is purple, fading to mauve and then white is a metaphor for life if ever there was one.

Artist Bio

I’ve painted since I was old enough to hold a brush.. Born with a significant visual impairment, I was encouraged to draw and paint in the hope it would aid visual development. I’m not sure it did much for my eyesight, but it certainly did plenty for my spirit

Art, for me, is all about communication. Everything I paint is communicating something , whether it be a simple emotion, or a more complex thought. My artistic style encompasses: abstract, expressionism, Impressionism and surrealism. If I were to categorise myself, I would say I’m an Outsider artist. Outsider art has been described as ‘any work of art produced by an untrained idiosyncratic artist who is typically unconnected to the conventional art world.’

In addition to painting I have a number of other creative outlets. I’m a trained florist and published children’s author. I crochet and design clothing, work with clay and make jewellery.
