"Egret, Northview Gardens"

I took the reference photos for this painting at a lake, near a housing estate called Northview Gardens, here in Mackay where I live. This lake was once beautiful and covered in pink and purple waterlilies and home to lots of wild ducks, egrets, geese and water hens. Sadly for some reason all the lilies have disappeared, except for one or two purple ones and the water is covered in a greeny coloured slime. Luckily I did get to take some photos before this happened!
