I took the photo of this beautiful rose while on a caravaning trip around Australia a couple of years ago. I thought it was such a lovely shape and colour I just had to paint it. I love painting roses, birds (especially egrets), animals or anything I think is beautiful. I've also painted a few landscapes and seascapes. I've taken thousands of photos of things I'd like to paint but I know I'll never live long enough to paint them all!
