The Window Seat

I live in the country and I am inspired by birds, animals and also the beautiful country side which is the inspiration behind this piece. I loved the blue of the mountains in the background with a variation in shades of blue. I work in both watercolour and in impasto/acrylic which this one is, the texture that can be created with this medium gives it a 3D effect. I have tried to bring the outside in by using a window seat overlooking the countryside,.

I am a self-taught Artist and have loved painting since I was a child. I live and work full-time on the family owned and operated farm in Southern NSW, however I love to paint in my spare time, mostly at night and weekends.
I have worked in many mediums, my favourite is Impasto/Acrylic, I adore the texture and am also drawn to bright vibrant colours. Living in the country inspires me everyday, so many great subjects such as Cattle, Landscapes, Sunsets, Flowers and a my favourite by far are Birds, I am a self confessed "Birdnerd".
My favourite pass time (Painting) has become an escape from the everyday and every spare moment I have, I can be found at my Easel.
