Artwork Description

Spray paint deodorant, primer on his porridge and a drop-sheet hero-cape, this part-time crime fighter is highly addicted to quality pigments, often very high on poska and can be found loitering around "wet paint" signs in search of a free hit. If this guy turns up to save the day, just hope that you're not wearing a nice shirt.

Artist Bio

Jeremy AUSTIN is an Australian artist based in The Northern Rivers of NSW who works in a variety of mediums out of studio in Lismore. Growing up in his fathers art store in Lismore, surrounded by art materials his entire life he found himself becoming a keen mark maker, a young Jeremy was busy soaking up the art of comic books, graphical science fiction books and Letraset lettering catalogues.

Never straying far from the tactile world he graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a focus on light projection sculpture and animation with his work being featured in the International Animation Festivals both in Australia and London.

A keen painter, illustrator, graphic designer, street-artist and screen-printer, Jeremy prints his artworks onto T-shirts and continues the exploration in mark-making and spontaneous creation daily by attacking sketchbooks, canvases and walls with a playful vigour.

Reoccurring characters act as a vehicle for the continued exploration into catatonic automatic drawing as well as muscle-memory schemata drawing with the aim of bringing the immediacy and honesty of the compressed line work of his sketchbook sessions to canvas and walls.
