Artwork Description

Winner of 2023 Frankston Art Centre Open Exhibition 'Renewal'.

This artwork is an intricate portrait showcasing the artists grandfather embracing her daughter during their first encounter. The artwork serves as a visual reminder of the continuous cycle of life, offering a sense of hope and appreciation for the moments we share with our loved ones.

Illustrated with an intense stippling process, each mark is meticulously applied with 0.3mm Staedler pigment liners and the small but significant point of focus presented in chalk pastel.

Artist Bio

I am an award-winning Melbourne-based artist, inspired by many local and international, current and historical artists of various calibres, though I would single out Leonardo Da Vinci, M.C. Escher and Giulio Campagnola as primary sources of creative inspiration attained from childhood.

I endeavour to immerse myself fearlessly in a vast array of mediums, yet continually return to the ethereal enchantment found within ink and graphite.

I hold a Diploma of Arts (Graphic) and have been navigating the ever-changing labyrinth of Graphic Design for two fruitful decades, stewarding my own studio and haven of creativity.

Digital design remains a passion, yet I continue to return to the untamed and sensory domain of physical creativity, delving into the profound intricacies of human nature and the tapestry of life's experiences with artwork both biographical and conceptual.

I was awarded winner of the 2023 Frankston Art Centre (FAC) Open Exhibition, 'Renewal' with my piece titled 'Circle of Life'
