Artwork Description

Hope is given special significance when viewed through the eyes of a child. Each small petal holds a wish, the brightness of the colours representing the simplicity and purity of wishes formed from a child's mind.

This piece began as an exploration of contrast and light and became an adventure of imagination and innocence. the edges of the background remain sharp whilst the subject bleeds off the edges with an organic and soft delayed finish, giving more emphasis to the dream-like and delicate tone of the artwork.

This artwork was produced with Staedler pigment liners 0.5mm and 0.3mm, and each reproduction print has been expertly produced so that each and every dot is as clear and intense as the original image.

Artist Bio

I am an award-winning Melbourne-based artist, inspired by many local and international, current and historical artists of various calibres, though I would single out Leonardo Da Vinci, M.C. Escher and Giulio Campagnola as primary sources of creative inspiration attained from childhood.

I endeavour to immerse myself fearlessly in a vast array of mediums, yet continually return to the ethereal enchantment found within ink and graphite.

I hold a Diploma of Arts (Graphic) and have been navigating the ever-changing labyrinth of Graphic Design for two fruitful decades, stewarding my own studio and haven of creativity.

Digital design remains a passion, yet I continue to return to the untamed and sensory domain of physical creativity, delving into the profound intricacies of human nature and the tapestry of life's experiences with artwork both biographical and conceptual.

I was awarded winner of the 2023 Frankston Art Centre (FAC) Open Exhibition, 'Renewal' with my piece titled 'Circle of Life'
