Artwork Description

This piece began with a simple bluebell—the kind that droops softly on its stem, quiet but unmistakable. Instead of painting it as it is, I let it shift and simplify in my hands. The petals became bold cobalt shapes, the leaves turned into grounding blocks of green, and the whole flower loosened into something more felt than seen.
I was drawn to the gentle curve of a bluebell, how it naturally leans rather than stands tall. That softness is still here, just translated into a more graphic, playful language. It’s a small nod to the wildness of them too—how they grow in clusters, a little unruly, a little free.
