Midnight Dahlia, (Third painting in my "Reflections" series) this still life painting features a gorgeous purple dahlia and its reflection. Dahlia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, herbaceous perennial plants native to Mexico and Central America. The tubers were originally grown as a food crop for the Aztecs, this practice largely died out after Spanish conquest and all subsequent attempts to use them as a food crop in Europe failed. Artist quality Pastel Pencils and Soft Pastels on Clairefontaine Pastelmat. Size is 30x40cm. Reference by Markus Distelrath.
