Luminance - impressionist landscape

This is a 11” x 14” soft pastel landscape painting (with coloured ink underpainting) on archival pastel paper. It is unframed. It requires careful framing as the painting should not be in direct contact with the glass.

When I was working on this painting, I was influenced by spring colours and meadows in the countryside. This painting was done in impressionistic style with each marking painted loosely in deliberate manner.

I am an artist from Blue Mountains, NSW. Represented by Aspire Gallery (QLD).

Working primarily with oils, I paint both real and imagined landscapes with ethereality.
Influenced by various significant artists from the past from the early impressionist painters and their love of capturing light and beauty, to colour field painters I continue to develop my painting style and techniques.

My works have in recent years commanded a significant amount of collecting attention. My most recent achievement includes online finalist in Lethbridge Small Art Prize 2023 and 2022 and having my works collected internationally in USA, UK and Singapore.
I also have a graphic design and photography background.

My goal is to capture the beauty of nature that people often take for granted. I never lack inspiration when there’s beauty all around us and above us.
