I have so much admiration for Pia’s dedicated style, so considered and polished, yet true to herself and unforced, making her a glamourous subject to paint. Pia’s portrait naturally became full of details, her perfectly curled hair, sequined headpiece and matching jewels, alongside her 1950s styled make-up and clothing. Pia graciously posed for me on the sumptuous lounges at The Ivy in Sydney, and was completed in oil on board as a cropped portrait highlighting her profile and the embellishments that surround her, my intention to capture the essence of her style.
A vintage culture expert and entrepreneur, a lover of vintage eras, including clothing, music, and architecture, these form the foundations of Pia’s personal style. On any given night Pia can be found performing as a singer in a Speakeasy lounge, or as a DJ, stylist, event manager or casting agent. Her roles within the community are varied, but always looking as glamourous as a 1950s starlet.
