Mark has had an extensive career in art, design and sculpting spanning over 35 years.
He began his creative journey at The University Of Melbourne where he studied Fine Art and Education. He then pursued teaching Art in secondary school settings, including the Steiner education system. Although always pursuing personal art in his own time to maintain a connection to his own creative life and journey, once Mark left full time teaching, he has devoted his time to creating for others.
From 1989- 2007, Mark practiced as a full time 3d Artist at Orchard Studio, Officer, Victoria. From 2007-2020, Mark has continued to pursue a career as a full time 3D artist at his home studio, mjw Art Studio in Gembrook, Victoria. Mark's professional three dimensional art and design has been for the service of visions and stories of clients. The works have been a shared vision between the Artist and community that the public works serve. From completion of projects for Parliament House, Canberra to school-based projects and liturgical commissions spanning Australia wide, the works have extensive reach, relevance and presence nationally.
Mark's current creative focus is personal and intimate; inspired by the Australian landscape and his home surrounded by native bushland, current works reflect the beauty of the Australian setting and the simple pleasure found in our backyards.
