Hi I’m an artist from Geelong, Australia! My name is Jessica Madden.
I have always been into art.
I grew up in Melbourne and then I moved to Geelong. I was always interested in traditional art and writing. In Highschool I developed a passion for graphic design. I used to draw an art form called zentangles and cartoons I liked. I liked drawing different aesthetically pleasing people. My nan introduced me to acrylic painting after Highschool, then I fell in love with visual arts and branched off into different mediums. I have completed a cert 2 and 3 in Visual Arts and am studying a cert 4 in Visual Arts, currently. Over the years I have made many artworks, done commissions for people, sold some of my art and have been in exhibitions. I am rather inspired by other artists. I take inspiration for my drawings from people at art clubs I go to and local Geelong artists, artists I find on bluethumb.com and other art websites and photos I find on the internet. I draw mainly cartoon ideas and landscapes with the feature of linework patterns of texture and zentangles that are filled with colour.
'Jess is a confident mark maker. She works with determination and a directness that gives her work its distinctive identity. Social comments or merely objects that take her interest appear in her drawings. Pattern is important and she uses pattern as she uses mediums; as ordered chaos within the one piece from acrylic paint, pastel pencil and markers and never has difficulty filling the page.
Jess is an emerging artist and finished a cert 2 and 3 in visual arts'- Artgusto (an art studio I go to.)
