One of a series of paintings that come from summer days spent on the beach with her children.

Jessica observes the unique way each of her children perceive and respond to the world around them; the highs and lows, the challenges they face and the courage it takes to overcome them. Jessica makes her work with the intention of connecting with others, to reveal the beautiful fragility and strength of being vulnerable.

Jessica works from her home studio on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW Australia. Born in New Zealand she completed her Fine Art studies in the UK where she worked and lived until she arrived in Australia in 2008.

Jessica’s work is a commentary of life; exploring self reflection, emotions and responses. Predominantly using the figure painted in oils, Jessica juxtaposes the figure with simpler elements to complete carefully designed narratives that explore the fine line between what we see, feel and do. Jessica makes work with the intention of connecting with others, to reveal the beautiful fragility and strength of being vulnerable.
