Jessica is passionate about creating bright, bold, colourful floral abstracts. Her works often depict full bodied blooms of all shapes, colours, and sizes. The observer is invited to explore every detail of depth, layering and bright, bold botanical shapes.
Jessica draws inspiration from the beauty of nature around her, including her home garden in Melbourne where she often spends most weekends with her young family, as well as larger than life, vibrant floral arrangements where she pays particular attention to the textures, colours, and placement of flowers and foliage that add dramatic effect.
โI love creating bright, bold floral abstracts because it fills me with immense joy, and I want to spread that feeling to as many people as I canโ.
Jessica is completely self-taught, picking up her first paint brush in her late 20s. She feels strongly that her creative ability came to her in life when she really needed it. After being diagnosed with a life changing, rare illness, Jessica had to alter her career plans as a teacher to work from home and that is when her creative instincts came to life. โWhen life forces you to slow down, you begin to notice the beauty around you and literally, โstop and smell the roses!โ For me, my artwork is an energy booster, a healing experience which I hope to spread to others - because this world needs more joy and healing".
