Geraldton waxflowers, kangaroo paws and other wildflowers carpet the landscape during Kambarang, the “second spring” season in the indigenous Noongar (Northwest Western Australia) calendar. This painting was inspired by a (non-indigenous) childhood in Western Australia and the memories of scents and light rather than reference photos.
Framed in oak
Painted as a small study for Season Of Plenty, also available. Both originals and differ slightly in execution.
