Artist Bio
Jill Thompson is an emerging artist living in the coastal town of Lennox Head, in northern New South Wales. Jill creates predominantly from the memories and reflections of sound, scent and visual presence into landscape abstraction. It's a visceral response to her off road hiking and cycling pursuits. Working mostly with acrylic, she also uses collage, ash or sand and other mediums on canvas, wooden panels or reclaimed timber blocks.
"That special moment when you are heading toward the top of a climb and as you round the last corner the air changes, the coolest breeze hits your face, the trees open up and the view is presented to you! That feeling needs to be translated and shared."
