Artwork Description

‘Beach Buds’ captures a beautiful, playful moment on the beach as my sister's two dogs, Alfie and Teddy wander across the sun-warmed sand. The low afternoon light creates long, expressive shadows that stretch towards the viewer, adding a wonderful sense of movement and depth.

Soft washes of golden ochre, sandy neutrals and cool blue create the feeling of reflected light across the wet shoreline, while the loose, fluid brushwork keeps the scene fresh and spontaneous. The two dogs, caught in their own little worlds, bring a sense of companionship and quiet joy to the composition.

There is something wonderfully simple and nostalgic about this scene—the warmth of the sun, the shimmer of the water and the carefree pleasure of a walk along the beach.
