Inspired by a trip to Sawtell, NSW this was a perfect opportunity to use a variety of techniques to achieve the light and mood of this painting. Wet on wet creating a cloudy sky and dry brush giving a sparkle to the ocean, texture to the grass and creating the effect of scrubby foliage and fence posts. And painting light by not painting at all, leaving the white of the paper to illuminate the scene.
