Summer Fields

The last time we headed down south the farm fields were still green from the residual spring rains but this time most were dry and golden, which always makes for a beautiful painting of contrasts. In this painting I wanted to pair back and simplify, using minimal strokes and allow the watercolour to settle in it's own places where I could then introduce some textural marks in the foreground for interest. I have to say I'm pleased with the result.

Jill Bryant is a West Australian artist, based in Fremantle. Jill inspired by the colours‚ textures and emotive elements of everything around her making her work extremely varied. Her passion for art started at a very early age and has continued to grow along with her skills awarding her with Dux of her year in two art institutions during her years of art education. Although a qualified Graphic Designer her real love is for painting‚ both in impressionistic and abstract forms.

The watercolour medium never ceases to captivate her and has moved her to push the boundaries producing stunning watercolour abstracts and impressionist works.
