Artwork Description

The inspiration for "Makeup" was the abstract expressionist movement of the mid 20th century. The random free flowing lines of colour were created using applicator bottles incorporating acrylic paint. The striking range of colours creates interest and commands attention.
The painting is on stretched canvas and incorporates a black stained Tasmanian oak floating frame. Two sets of mounting wires are attached allowing the painting to be hung horizontally (as shown) or vertically

Artist Bio

Jillian began painting in the 1980’s with commissions from friends and family for large contemporary paintings to suit specific residential interior decoration applications.
Her early works such as “Ochre” and “Horizon” demonstrate her subtle use of colour, texture and form.
Each piece created by Jillian is crafted with a unique perspective, often blending bold strokes with intricate detailing to create a balance of chaos and harmony.
