I am an Australian painter based on the southern end of the Gold Coast, Queensland. I studied design at the Sydney College of the Arts, where I developed a strong foundation in visual structure, composition, and observational practice. Working primarily from life, I aim for a more direct, intuitive approach to painting.
My practice focuses on oil painting, often using a wet-on-wet technique that allows for immediacy, fluidity, and expressive mark-making. By working into the paint while it is still active, I hope to capture atmosphere, light, and form with a sense of presence and authenticity. My work reflects a deep engagement with the subject, favoring observation and responsiveness over rigid planning.
Living and working near the coast continues to influence my practice, informing both my palette and my sensitivity to light and mood. Through a disciplined yet instinctive process, I create paintings that balance design awareness with the vitality of painting from life.
