I painted this piece after spending time at Main Beach on the Gold Coast, watching the sunlight filter through the trees and dance across the sand.
What stayed with me most was the contrast between the cool shade beneath the trees and the bright, sparkling ocean beyond. I used bold colours and loose brushstrokes to capture the warmth, movement, and relaxed energy of a summer afternoon by the sea.
