Things are looking up

I have always been drawn to trees. Their different shapes and textures. I love the details in their bark and the curves in their branches and how they interact with light.

This Eucalyptus was a head Turner. We drove past it in Bundora and had to drive back to get a photo.

Hi, I'm Jin. I am new to Melbourne, moving here from New Zealand with my partner and our dog in October 2023. I paint out of my home studio inspired by this beautiful new environment around me.

In university, when I showed my interest in becoming an ophthalmologist, my consultant, who was on the selection committee, asked what my hobbies were. I replied ' going to the gym' because that is one of my hobbies. He told me that the gym was not a hobby .. So ... I lied and added that I paint...

Now, 15 years later, I am not an ophalmologist but this lie has come true.

Painting has become my happy place and I hope you enjoy some of what I have created.
