Artwork Description

OUR STAR is one of my spiritual art from the “Flow of Light” series. This series has been featured in different media.

Butterflies are often seen as symbols of change, transformation and rebirth. Some say they are omens of good luck and bring messages of light hailing new beginnings.

In my painting, the butterfly is a symbol flying out of space to another planet. It completes the process of self-transformation to transcend for a higher purpose.

The painting is what I see, think and feel. I attempt to take viewers of my artworks on a Journey to the other side of a magical dream, mystical and transcending, helping to appreciate our amazing universe.

Artist Bio

Ren Jingmin (Jingmin Ren 任静敏)

Spiritual Energy Artist | APRAAA® Chair | Waverley City Council Multicultural Expert
Founder of JMREN® | Sydney, Australia

Ren Jingmin (Jingmin Ren 任静敏) is a renowned, award-winning artist and calligrapher based in Sydney, celebrated for her spiritual energy art that bridges Eastern philosophy and Western contemporary expression. Her work captures the dynamic essence of light, energy, and transformation, blending surrealism with vibrant color to convey universal harmony and inner awakening.

Her acclaimed Sydney Morning and Flow of Light oil painting series have been exhibited internationally, reflecting her deep reverence for nature’s rhythm and spiritual vitality.

Artistic Journey

Originally from China, Ren Jingmin began her professional art journey after relocating to Sydney in 2009. One of her earliest and most meaningful commissions came from her local Catholic school — to create paintings inspired by the Book of Genesis. This experience marked her own “Genesis” in Australia, symbolizing renewal, faith, and the beauty of creation.

Over three years, she has also photographically documented Sydney’s sunrises, drawing inspiration from the ever-changing colors and energy of dawn. These observations continue to shape the luminous energy expressed throughout her art.

Calligraphy, Seal Art & Innovation

As a dedicated calligrapher, Ren seamlessly integrates traditional ink expression with modern art forms. Her works explore the philosophy of stillness and movement — merging calligraphy, seal art, and energy painting into a unified visual language.

Her calligraphy series Free and Easy Wandering and The Three Realms of Zhuangzi received international acclaim, with the latter earning her the Gold Award at the 8th China Calligraphy Lanting Exhibition (2025).

In recent years, Ren founded the “XINYIN LIUNIAN — 心印流年” Seal Art series, a contemporary exploration of time, memory, and spiritual imprint through ancient seal art. This series blends the meditative nature of traditional Chinese seals with a poetic, modern aesthetic.

Her works have been exhibited on giant screens in New York’s Times Square and Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay, as well as in international showcases across London, Las Vegas, and Sydney, bridging cultures and inspiring dialogue through art.
