Artwork Description

My favorite weather is rainy days. I’ve heard that Eskimos have over 100 words to describe snow, but how many words are there in Chinese to describe rain? I once experienced what seemed like a sudden hole in the sky, from which raindrops fell directly down. Large raindrops splattered on the ground with a pitter-patter sound, like visitors from outer space who hadn’t yet learned to fly.

Artist Bio

Artist Wu Jingyu, born in China, draws inspiration from her rich cultural background and global travels. Her art blends Eastern traditions with modern styles, reflecting her diverse experiences. She’s shown her work worldwide and is praised for its emotional depth and innovation.

Beyond painting, Wu Jingyu loves sharing art through workshops and picture books, helping people of all ages connect across cultures. She uses natural materials like mineral pigments, showing respect for tradition and nature, which gives her paintings a calm, thoughtful feel.

She believes: “Painting is my unique way of depicting the world, capturing the soul marks of fleeting moments. It is both abstract and concrete, preserving the innocence of childhood while containing profound insights into life. For me, it is also a bridge to break free from self-imposed constraints and engage in a silent dialogue with the world. I firmly believe that art is a universal language that transcends words and text, possessing the extraordinary power to touch the deepest parts of the soul and bring about pure, profound emotion.” It is precisely this relentless pursuit of artistic purity that makes Wu Jingyu’s works stand out in the contemporary art field, radiating a unique brilliance.
