Bird 15

Bird 15 continues my exploration of nested forms, using the familiar silhouette of a bird as a way to think about protection, presence, and inner life. The composition is built from layered shapes that sit within one another, loosely referencing babushka dolls, where each form contains another, smaller self.
This painting reflects my ongoing interest in mid-century design, hard-edge abstraction, and the way simple forms can carry emotional weight without narrative.
The artwork is presented in a slim, light-toned timber frame that complements the palette without drawing attention away from the painting.
