A Place For Contemplation Kransberg Castle

This scene is from my visit at Kransberg Castle, located in the Taunus mountains near Kransberg, Hesse, Germany. During World War II and the Cold War, it served military and intelligence purposes. It was part of the Adlerhorst complex, Hitler's headquarters during the war. It also served as an interrogation center for leaders after the war as well and went under the codename Camp Dustbin.
The castle was first mentioned around 1250 and rebuilt in a neo-Gothic style in 1874.

It seems that today, it's used for cultural events, weddings, and corporate events. It was closed when we were there. In fact we never even drove to the entry we were so intrigued with what was behind and went for a secret walkabout. The place seemed really quite run down.

I expect that Adolf wandered about out here and sat out here somewhere in contemplation. Funny to think of the footsteps that fell before your own.
It felt like my own secret garden.

Jo is faith driven with a passion for life and is inspired by simple moments in time that present themselves to us at any given moment. These brushes with life often feel magical or profound, and yet appear in seemingly ordinary environments to the watchful eye and waiting spirit. Sometimes they materialise in the back garden, a street corner, down at the beach while riding the horse, in our dreams or even in a conversation.
