Artwork Description

This piece is inspired by finding wee mate on the road on a bend. Just managed to dodge him. Heat stroke it seemed. So he had a big drink and then we hung out in the car air conditioning for nearly 2 hours. He flew to a tree eventually.
He was such a polite Kookaburra. I read you shouldn't touch them and you can be attacked, bitten and scratched, but I couldn't abandon him could I. I've been wanting to paint a Kookaburra, but my pair on our property are very camera shy.
I took the pictures of him in my car to prove to my acupuncturist I wasn't dragging my feet for my appointment, and they served to help me paint this piece.
I really hope you enjoy it.

Her work has also been leased privately to help showcase multi-million dollar properties here in Australia. Jo is faith driven with a passion for life and is inspired by simple moments in time that present themselves to us at any given moment. These brushes with life often feel magical or profound, and yet appear in seemingly ordinary environments to the watchful eye and waiting spirit. Sometimes they materialise in the back garden, a street corner, down at the beach while riding the horse, in our dreams or even in a conversation. These moments and conversations often feature in her work. We hope you enjoy.
