I live in Melbourne in the inner north, tucked in between the urban chaos and the large urban landscaped green spaces.
Prior to completing a degree in graphic design, I spent several years creating gift cards in gouache medium. After studying I then worked as a Graphic Designer and illustrator for approx 20 years, until things became so digitalised I became disenchanted. I turned my back on design and picked up the paint brush again, spending several years creating mixed medium collages on canvas and ship paintings on weatherboards.
Life changed direction again and I moved my creative focus to Holistic healing work, letting go of visual art.
This past year has bought huge changes into my life and with it a deep yearning to create art once more and so the paint brush is back in my hand.
A short trip to NZ in early โ23 inspired this small landscape series, a loving appreciation for my birth country and a renewed awe at the raw magnificence of the landscape.
My latest explorations centre my passion for the simplicity of bold floral forms.
My background in design influences the composition, colours and graphic elements in my works. These seem to change organically over time.
My wish is for my art to offer some beauty, joy or pleasure to someoneโs life.
