This compelling abstract piece merges the somber depths of black and grey with the opulence of gold. At its heart lies a highly textural gold formation, evoking the intricate patterns found in nature. Its design, reminiscent of a blossoming flower, also conjures images of open arms—welcoming, embracing, and reaching out. This dual symbolism invites viewers to find both vulnerability and strength within its forms, a testament to the beauty of growth and connection amidst contrast and complexity.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Joanna has always been gifted with a creative flair and has travelled down many different avenues to satisfy her deep need to create. Some mediums she has trialled include macramé, ceramics, drawing, painting and acrylic pouring.
She is obsessed with the use of different textures and has recently been exploring the use of alcohol inks and resin. She loves to use a mix of media on various materials such as canvas and wood or metal panels.
She is passionate about incorporating 24 karat gold and real silver into her pieces, playing on her love for all things shiny. She loves the luxurious feel that gold brings to her art.
Whilst raising her three beautiful children has been her main priority over the last 14 years, Joanna has also run a successful cake decorating business for the last 8 of them.
2020 has certainly thrown up many challenges for her (like everyone), including turning 40! Navigating the ups and downs of the day to day, Joanna has realised that life is short and there is no point in wasting time doing the things that don’t truly fulfil her spirit. She now spends every waking moment dreaming, experimenting, living and breathing all things art.
Joanna is so excited to be able to put her true passion first and share her art with the world.
