Artwork Description

Vantage (2025) is a large-scale diptych from Joanna Wolthuizen’s Composed Abstraction™ practice, where colour, geometry, and spatial rhythm converge into a unified architectural field.

Expansive planes of saturated blue, mineral green, and vivid chromatic accents unfold across two adjoining panels, creating a continuous visual terrain that shifts between landscape, structure, and memory. Bold linear divisions stabilise the composition while fluid contours introduce movement—holding tension between control and release.

Conceived for contemporary architectural interiors, the work balances playfulness and monumentality, offering both immediate visual energy and long-term contemplative depth. The diptych format extends the pictorial field horizontally, allowing the composition to inhabit space rather than simply occupy a wall.
