I am a contemporary acrylic painter living in Melbourne. Growing up I loved using my imagination and was always told in school to ‘stop daydreamingʼ. Over the years I worked full time as a Graphic Designer but felt stymied in day to day life and also suffered from complex trauma. A spiritual awakening in 2020 revitalised my creativity and then came an inner knowing that I had to share this gift from God with the world.
I like going out into nature, meditation, yoga and listening to music. My artwork reflects my newfound joy and love of life with the use of bold bright colours. I have tried using a more subtle or limited colour palette in paintings but I can never resist adding an extra splash of colour across the canvas or cramming a myriad of colours together.
I usually start with an abstract background and then incorporate a face into the patterns created. I donʼt always know what the end result will be but enjoy the freedom of losing myself in the creative process.
The female form is my favourite subject and my preferred details to capture are their eyes and mouth. I find it rewarding to portray the moment of a really big smile, joyfulness or stillness, physical beauty and the individuals countenance. I hope you enjoy the colourful and expressive paintings that I have created. Thank you.
