Art for people who care about the Planet. BIO - Joanne chose the arts early in life, all school subjects reflected this interest, and she landed work experience as BBC Arts Correspondent Assistant in London, but decided she didn't want to write about art, she just wanted to do it.
Earning whilst travelling the world sent her in many directions, however, and she didn't re-engage in the arts until she had settled in Sydney. By age twenty-eight she became a popular performance artist and poet, which, once again had a focus on writing (though she sculpted whilst reciting her poetry, it wasn't enough). Finally, after attending The National Art School she began to exhibit in Australia.
Joanne has since obtained; sought after artist residencies; been a finalist in several renowned art prizes; won second place in two sustainable art prizes; and was given an award in Tuscany, Italy.
Her up-cycled sculptural works were sold privately in a number of Sydney galleries, and emotive life drawings were marketed by a Sydney art consultancy.
However, she now resides in the Northern Rivers where she has launched her work online, and continues her work in community engagement and art education.
Joanne has been teaching children, adults and those with special needs how to acquire confidence in the creative process for over ten years.
