Artwork Description

Protea I is an original Mixed media artwork on Paper that followed a body of work exploring Native Australian Flora through various artistic styles and mediums. This piece is a beautiful pop of colour for a stand-out native Australian flower.

This painting is slightly shorter than A3 size (297 x 407mm) and will come hinge mounted in a white matboard, making it frame ready for a 40x50cm frame. Your artwork will also be safely displayed in an Archival crystal-clear bag for its protection until framing. Note the interior mock up in this listing is to help visualise how the piece will look once framed, and is not to scale.

Artist Bio

Jo Perry is an Adelaide based artist with a love of colour and detail. Her art style is expressive and diverse, with a main focus on abstract explorations, as well as fine detailed illustrations.

Art has always been a love for Jo, being her strongest focus in her school days and where she spent much time in her early adult life induced in a state of meditation through her focus on detailed pencil portraiture. It was only until becoming a mother that her greatest creative expansion occurred, and she began to incorporate vibrant colour, diverse mediums, intricate detailing and loose, wild expressions within her pieces.

Today, her technique and range is deeply dependent on the mood and external influences at play in her life and she often has several pieces in different styles on the go at one time, which she moves through based on her creative energy.

At any point she will have a list of artworks in her journal waiting to be brought to life, inspired by her surroundings, and while she loves to experiment and play with different techniques in bringing these to life, her favourite styles to articulate her creative ideas are through her vibrant abstracts with bold colours, 'flowy' movement and intricate details, as well as in her detailed nature, animal and people based illustrations. When her creative flow is in full swing, she can't go past a good colour palette or a bunch of flowers without visualising how it could influence current artworks or be brought to life in new pieces.

Jo's wish for those viewing her art is that they can get lost in the intricacy she has lovingly detailed within her pieces, regardless of the style, and that whichever takes your eye, it can strike a cord in your imagination. She invites you to explore her portfolio here and welcomes commissions also.
