Artwork Description

A spilt wine stained cloth, a bunch of grapes and a candle flickering in a playful draft. Behind sits a wine bottle acting as a vase for a white anthurium flower. This artwork captures the essence of a beautiful disaster—where unexpected spills and stains paint an intriguing narrative. It's a scene that whispers secrets and invites you to uncover the mysteries within.

Artist Bio

I am an Australian artist based in the beautiful Illawarra region on the NSW south coast on Dharawal Land. I have enjoyed two stints at art school. One for a Diploma of Visual Arts where I explored my passion for drawing, painting and sculpture. The other for a Diploma of Design where I honed my technology, photography and creative thinking skills. I live with my two chihuahuas Bear and Fonzie. Art is my escape, I hope it is for you too.

My art practice is about creating beauty as an escape for the artist (me) and the viewer. I work in multiple mediums combining the figurative, abstract and realism, using expressive form, line and colour to convey emotion in response to the subject. I use everyday objects as symbols to create a commentary on modern life. My art is a way to respond to pain with beauty echoing the eternal struggle between dark and light. I use visual metaphors for identity, struggle and belonging but in a joyful way that provides contrast and interest.
