My Turtle art is inspired by my involvement while living on the beachside at Bargara, Great Barrier Reef Australia. I was privileged to have the responsibility of educating visitors to our park on the turtles & hatchlings.
These majestic marine turtles make their journey to the shore to lay their eggs, then protect the hatching a few months later, while making their tenacious journey to the sea.
They are a symbol of longevity and stability in many cultures around the world. While swimming with these majestic and elegant creatures that glide through the ocean, regularly giving you a couple of glimpses. That relationship with a turtle leaves you with a deep respect for its curiousness and splendour. I wonder, if only a turtle could talk, I imagine the conversation would be full of wisdom, knowledge and experiences just like our elders today.
