Joe Faust is a self taught painter based in Proserpine Queensland, working in oils, alcohol based inks, cold wax, dry pigment on canvas and board. Joe's painting process, his choice of palette, brush strokes and gestural techniques with the palette knife add life, movement and light to his paintings is evoked my sensations from listening to varied music genres. His emotional response to these transcendent feeling is the source from which he achieves his interpretation of the landscape.
Inspired by a group of self-taught artists, the 'Brushmen of the Bush', Joe's distinctive artistic technique has evolved into an individualistic painting style through experimentation and openness to new ideas and influences.
